]]>The reruns of this hit sitcom were one of the top draws on HBO Max before it was merged with Discovery+ and rebranded as Max. Considering its enduring popularity, revisiting this world makes sense, and Chuck Lorre Production joined forces with Warner Bros. Television to make it happen.
This spinoff is still in the early stages of development, and it’s unclear which characters it would center on. It’s unlikely it will serve as a direct sequel since Lorre and co-creator Bill Prady previously told Entertainment Weekly that the finale felt like the perfect ending.
“It’s hard to imagine what you would see after the finale because I found the finale was just one of the most beautiful and satisfying episodes. The closure it brought was astonishing. It’s hard to imagine reopening the story,” explained Prady.
The Big Bang Theory aired on CBS for 12 seasons between 2007 and 2019, and its ensemble cast included Johnny Galecki, Jim Parsons, Kaley Cuoco, Simon Helberg, Kunal Nayyar, Mayim Bialik, Melissa Rauch, and Kevin Sussman.

]]>HBO Max managed to secure exclusive streaming rights to all 12 seasons of this Emmy and Golden Globe-winning series which ended its run on CBS earlier this year. All 279 episodes of The Big Bang Theory will be available on this streaming service, under the five-year deal.
Robert Greenblatt, chairman of WarnerMedia Entertainment, said they’re thrilled to become the streaming home for this show when HBO Max officially launches in the spring of 2020.
“This show has been a hit virtually around the globe, it’s one of the biggest shows on broadcast television of the last decade, and the fact that we get to bring it to a streaming platform for the first time in the U.S. is a coup for our new offering,” stated Greenblatt.

]]>Director Mark Cendrowski has suggested that Young Sheldon is not the only spin-off on the cards. In addition to the Sheldon Cooper prequel, the directors have spoken about the possibility of the characters returning for a “continuation” of the original series.
“If in five years Chuck Lorre [The Big Bang Theory creator) decided to bring back some characters and try something again, I would love to be involved. It would be just a continuation,” he told Forbes. “There’s plenty to explore with their lives and characters moving forward. That said, it would have to be its own show with its own reason for being.”
Cendrowski also said that the “continuation” would likely happen a few years down the line rather than in the near future.
“I think the idea of letting things percolate a little, and you don’t want to cash in,” he explained. “That doesn’t mean that won’t happen and, in a couple of years, maybe it’s a character or a couple of characters that catch up within a couple of years. Who knows if it will happen.”
In the meantime, season three of Young Sheldon will air on CBS September 26.

]]>CBS has announced the final episode of its ever-popular series will air May 16 and that fans will have an hourlong series finale to say their goodbyes.
The series, which starred Jim Parsons, Kaley Cuoco, Johnny Galecki, Mayim Bialik, Melissa Rauch, Simon Helberg, and Kunal Nayyar, aired its first episode on September 24, 2007. According to The Wrap, by the time the series ends, it will be the longest-running multi-camera series in television history with 279 episodes.
Producers and stars have been tight lipped on how they’ll end. A few months ago all that Chuck Lorre told Deadline was: “we have a general idea of what we are aiming for with May and the finale. These days there’s a lot of melancholy in the background at all times. It’s been a 12-year project that has been really just a joy. It’s going to be very, very sad to let it go.”
Parsons and Cuoco did give a small hint of what they wish happens in the series finale telling Entertainment Weekly, “That’s one of my wishes for the final episode,” says Parsons. “The elevator gets fixed, at least for a minute, and then we all get stuck in it.” “It would be a great show ending for me!” added Cuoco.

Thom Sherman, the network’s senior executive vice president of programming, added: “The Coopers are portrayed by an amazing cast, and we are looking forward to having the gifted writing staff mine even more of Sheldon’s hilarious backstory and the warm family dynamic that has made this comedy a favourite with audiences for the past two seasons.”
The good news gets better as the show has not just been renewed for a third season but a forth as well. This means the show will continue to air until at least 2021.

]]>The CBS comedy, which is in its final season, will finally feature the crossover fans have been waiting for with three of the show’s stars making cameos as their characters. Back in August Warner Bros. announced that it will be ending the longest-running multi-camera series in TV history this spring.
“We are forever grateful to our fans for their support of The Big Bang Theory during the past 12 seasons. We, along with the cast, writers, and crew, are extremely appreciative of the show’s success and aim to deliver a final season, and series finale, that will bring The Big Bang Theory to an epic creative close.”
According to Entertainment Weekly, during a December episode of The Big Bang Theory, Young Sheldon’s Iain Armitage (Sheldon), Lance Barber (George) and Montana Jordan (Georgie) will appear as their spinoff characters.
It’s unclear how the crossover will be worked out considering Young Sheldon takes place almost thirty years prior to the setting of Big Bang. With CBS and producer Warner Bros. TV keeping details under wraps, fans will just have to wait and see.

Johnny Galecki was right behind him, with $25 million in the bank. Simon Helberg and Kunal Nayyar tied for the third spot, thanks to $23.5 million paychecks they received for starring on The Big Bang Theory.
This is Parson’s fourth year in a row topping the list. He recently served as narrator for spin-off series Young Sheldon and starred in a movie A Kid Like Jake. Parsons was executive producer of both projects, and that’s probably why he earned a few more millions than his colleagues.
