As the video progresses, we get to see her change a series of glam outfits, serving some major Parisian chic, drawing inspiration from the time she recently spent in the City of Light.
“Love On” is the singer’s first release since last year’s “Single Soon”, which was released as a standalone single. She previously dropped hints about her new album in an interview with Vogue Mexico and described it as a real pop record with an R&B moment.
Gomez’s fans should savor each new song she shares with the world because it’s just a matter of time before she stops. During a recent appearance on the SmartLess podcast, the singer said she only has one more album left in her, adding she’s planning to focus on acting afterward. She already set this plan in motion and booked a role in the upcoming Linda Ronstadt biopic, in addition to co-leading the Hulu series Only Murders in the Building.

]]>Rumors about Gomez’s potential involvement first emerged back in July, and she added some more fuel to the fire by posting a photo of Ronstadt’s memoir on her Instagram story. Just a few hours later, The Rolling Stone confirmed her casting in the upcoming biopic.
This promising project will be based on Ronstadt’s memoir Simple Dreams, and it’s still looking for a writer, director, and additional cast. Ronstadt’s longtime manager John Boylan and Linda and the Mockingbirds director James Keach are producing, with Gomez coming on board as an executive producer.
The news of Gomez’s casting in this project comes shortly after the Only Murders in the Building star revealed she’s considering taking a break from music to focus on other creative endeavors.
“The older I get, the more I’m kind of like, I would like to find something to just settle on… I do feel like I have one more album in me but I would probably choose acting,” said Gomez during a recent appearance on the SmartLess podcast.

]]>Gomez appeared on the latest episode of the SmartLess podcast with Jason Bateman, Sean Hayes, and Will Arnett, and dropped some hints about her plans for the future. She recalled getting into singing after recording a theme song for her Disney Channel series Wizards of Waverly Place, but she never expected it to become her full-time career.
Gomez is primarily known as a singer these days, but that could change soon. She’s planning to take a break from music to focus on acting, her brand Rare Beauty, and her charity work.
“I do feel like I have one more album in me, but I would probably choose acting. I am gonna wanna chill because I’m tired… “I wanted to be an actress, I never really intended on being a singer full-time but apparently that hobby turned into something else,” said Gomez.
This announcement comes shortly after Gomez shared exciting news about her next album with Vogue Mexico. She said it’s going to be a “real pop record” with an R&B moment and no sad songs.

“I didn’t have anything to write about because I’m so used to writing sad girl music. And I love a song like that, but I wasn’t going through something that was breaking me down… I want to try to find ways to make good pop music, with a message that really means something,” said Gomez.
She described her upcoming album as a “real pop record” with an R&B moment, which will explore how it feels like to break from the constraints she had when she was 20.
The singer’s 2020 album Rare tackled the themes of self-empowerment, self-love, and self-worth and produced singles “Lose You to Love Me”, “Look at Her Now”, and “Rare”.

]]>Only Murders in the Building centers on three total strangers Charles, Oliver, and Mabel (Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez) who live in the same apartment building in New York. They bond through their shared love for true crime podcasts and decide to make their own about a string of mysterious murders in their apartment building.
The show’s third season took us to Broadway and centered on the murder of Hollywood actor Ben Glenroy (Paul Rudd). The star-studded cast of Season 3 also included Meryl Streep, Jesse Williams, Ashley Park, Jeremy Shamos, Linda Emond, Wesley Taylor, and Michael Cyril Creighton.
Renewing Only Murders in the Building for another season was a no-brainer for Hulu considering its commercial and critical success. It’s the streamer’s most-watched original comedy series to date, and its Season 3 premiere scored the most-watched debut for any Hulu scripted original in 2023. This series has been nominated for many accolades since its premiere, and it’s currently in the running for the best comedy series at the upcoming Primetime Emmy Awards.

]]>Rema originally released “Calm Down” as a part of his debut album Rave & Roses, and the song found an even bigger audience after he recorded a remix with Selena Gomez last year. “Calm Down” went on to peak at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and top the Pop Airplay and Adult Pop Airplay charts—and that was just the beginning.
Spotify officially announced that “Calm Down” joined their Billions Club, becoming the first song led by an African artist to reach this coveted number.
“This milestone is absolutely remarkable for Rema, marking a pivotal moment for this talented artist and the entire Afrobeats community. It’s clear that the genre is making a significant impact and gaining substantial influence on the global music stage,” stated Victor Okpala, Spotify’s manager of artist and label partnerships for West Africa.
Rema thanked his fans for giving this song the push to the top of Spotify’s charts and described its success as “a blessing” and a “big win” for himself, his team, his family, and the Afrobeats culture as a whole.

]]>Gomez teased her new single last week, and described it as “a fun little song I wrote a while back that’s perfect for the end of summer.” This breakup anthem is all about embracing your freedom after ditching your ex, and the Rare Beauty founder thanked her fans for supporting it.
“Thank you guys for all the love on ‘Single Soon’!!! It’s a playful anthem about being comfortable in your own skin and loving your own company… and it’s also really fun to dance to!” she wrote on Instagram.
The music video for “Single Soon” was directed by Philip Andelman, and it sees the singer having the time of her life with her friends following a breakup – from dancing and singing karaoke to driving in a limo and swimming in a pool.
“Single Soon” has been released as a stand-alone single, and Gomez felt now was the perfect time to share it because she’s not ready to release her next studio album just yet. She previously told Vanity Fair this record will explore “freedom” and described it as “really powerful, strong, very pop.”

“Y’all have been asking for new music for a while. Since I’m not quite done with SG3, I wanted to put out a fun little song I wrote a while back that’s perfect for the end of summer,” she wrote on social media.
“Single Soon” marks Gomez’s first song of 2023, but she’s been making waves on the charts this summer without releasing any new music. She hopped on the remix of Rema’s Afrobeats hit “Calm Down” this time last year, but this song is still making waves on the charts all around the world and it peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
Gomez previously told Vanity Fair that her next album will be “really powerful, strong, very pop”, and added its main theme will be “freedom from relationships [and] freedom from the darkness.”
